I just said the hyper 212 to be barely enough and OP shouldnt put any expectations on it. I myself think putting water next to electronics is stupid. Since you arent aware, the i32 is a bit better than the hyper 212 even with only 1 fan. I have no case fans in the case because all of them died. And spending 40 bucks on fans sounds a lot better to me than spending over a 100 bucks on an AIO. But for now he doesn't want to do that, so why would you waste money?Īnd if you think the Hyper 212 is too loud, then he could simply go ahead and buy two Silent Wings 3 or Noctuas or whatever and he would still get really good performance at low noise levels. What is the point? He can always buy that AIO later if he wants to overclock that 7700k. Why would you recommend someone to buy an AIO that could potentially fail and is noisier than an air cooler, when OP already has a 212 Evo? The TDP of the 6700k and the 7700k is the same.ħ0☌ or even 80☌ for that matter are reasonable temperatures.

If it needs to shout to keep a 2600k of similar clock speed at reasonable temps, it wont be quiet to do the same to a 7700k.Īgain, I had a 6700k running cooled by an Arctic Freezer i32 with two fans in a case, that has never heard the term "airflow" before. Not like 7700k is known for being cool and efficient either. Just make sure you dont expect it to be cool and quiet at the same time.ħ700k has an all-core turbo boost of 4.4GHz which is even higher. I'm only against buying it, not using it. You can still use it and try it yourself, since you already have one. Tried using two, but ditched one since it's twice as loud and only 5-6C cooler.
